Payable on Death (abbreviated as P.O.D.) is an American Christian alternative metal band formed in 1992. The band’s line-up consists of vocalist Sonny Sandoval, drummer Wuv Bernardo, guitarist Marcos Curiel, and bassist Traa Daniels. This is their tenth full length release and is called “The Awakening”.

The album comes with ten tracks and two guest vocalists: Maria Brink of In This Moment and Lou Koller from Sick Of It All. The album includes quite some intros and samples. Each song is telling a story, digging deep into your mind. With amazing arrangements and great vocals the album has its very own flow and mood. When you listen to “The Awakening” you will be sucked into the world P.O.D. has created with the music. And you will last there for about forty-five minutes. Thriving music wandering between rap and metal will definitely get you going along, whether it is nodding or tapping, but you will move to the music when listening.

The album is creating quite some images, especially because of the spoken samples of scenes, like a phone call or a conversation on the playground. “The Awakening” is brilliant album by P.O.D. that is definitely worth checking out.
