Time for some Disco a la metal in Tilburg, Finnish bands Turmion Kätilöt and King Satan are on the road together bringing the tunes through Europe.

King Satan

Last year King Satan released their album “The Devil’s Evangelion” and we spoke with their front man already (youtube) about the album. Today we would be able to see a great deal of that in live edition. Previously the band has been in the country as a support of Gothminister so the Dutch have had their introduction to this band already. A full house was there for the party and they came early. Slowly easing into the set before the whole has even started they entered to play “Left Hand Path Symphony”. Soon the set evolves in a vibrant and energetic happening where a lot of people around me are dancing or headbanging. Enticing tunes and encouraging performance are working well here tonight, tracks like “The Carnivalesque of Dark and Light” and “New Aeon Gospel” are reaching the audience all the way to the back and sets things in motion. King Satan played a successful set here tonight.

Turmion Kätilöt

We lost count of how many times we came across Turmion Kätilöt through the years. Always in Finland though. The last couple of years the band has been breaking out of their territory, seeking Europe for their sound. Good excuse to bring out some classics which we have heard so many years ago to a new audience. “Pirun Nyrkki” and “U.S.C.H!” coming by early in the set ensuring to start with high energy. The band chats and jokes with their audience in between and it is interesting to see how many people from Finland have traveled abroad to see the guys play. Musically the guys have been focusing more on the heavier side of their sound as it seems, not that they stray too far from what we have known them from, but certainly noticeable. Showwise, the guys are still much close to their audience often coming up close and engaging performances are an easy win for the (somewhat) Dutch crowd. A wild evening here in Tilburg, that we can say.
