The French hard rockers Last Temptation released the third record since 2019. Replacing members except founder Peter Scheithauer, the band tried to show all the mastery in Heart Starter.
“Ready for a one-way trip to California?” questioned Last Temptation on their official site. If I started my music investigation with the album’s cover, I’d confused with all the attribution of desert rock. Neither comparing with Aerosmith and Van Halen was useful. There is something out of genres. Whatever it’s gonna be, let’s have a closer look.
The classic rock bingo consists life, love and woman. Here some examples of pure hard rock: “Get on me”, “Heart Starter” and “Live by Night”. If the first part of album includes simple and commercial successful tracks, then the second – technically different and interesting samples. “Born to be alive” is impressive multi-genred track that deeper than others. “Wildfire”, solid and fireproof. My personal fav with slight odor of psychedelic rock is “Til’ I can’t see”. This kind of California I honestly expected. And the last mentioned tune is the technically last track “We are alive”, that sounds like a jam improvisation with guitar country vibes.
Resuming Heart Starter in a few words, it’s gonna be the living energy. As for me it didn’t restart my heart but let it beat faster.
