I believe Foo Fighters is one of these bands that don’t need an introduction. Founded in 1994 in Seattle after the tragic death of Kurt Cobain.
Now they have released their eight album called “Sonic Highways”. Now this is not just a regular studio album but carries a story: As part of a companion HBO television series called “Foo Fighters Sonic Highways” the band recorded eight songs for the album, each in a different US city: Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. So you can find all eight cities on the cover, along with eight times the symbol eight – or laid sideways – the symbol for infinity. And of course – eight individual songs on the album that together create a wonderful story. It is basically telling the story of Foo Fighters. A wonderful idea for their twentieth band anniversary. The songs are strong and passionate, digging deep and go deeper the more you listen to them. With the typical sound Foo Fighters are known for, these songs won’t go by unnoticed. The melodies are catchy and will definitely get stuck in your head. A beautiful piece of art that you should definitely check out. Foo Fighters’ “Sonic Highway” is out now.
