Temtris is Heavy metal formation from Australia which formed in 1999. The band released two full length albums before, in 2003 and 2007 and after that it got quiet for a while but anno 2014 the band let us get introduced to a brand new album, “Shallow Grave” is out now.
Here and there they have a little something psychedelic, think Jess and the Ancient Ones, but in the end they are more heavier and melodic than you would have expected at first. In tracks like “Slave To The System”, “The Entity” or “Darkness Lies” you get a great exhibition of the se melodics as the riffs are driving you into the sound. Here and there some male growls that give it a bit stronger body, where femme Genevieve gives more drama to the tracks.
The band serves us with a diversity in the tracks, some are simply fast and furious with a whole lot of power, but they are not afraid to take a step back and slow it down a bit to get a doom atmosphere over it as well. This diversion makes the album one that shows the band of different sides and they seem very versatile with the use of so many different styles and genres into their sound, but still manage to get into a unity into the end which defines the band Temtris.
