From Switzerland we are receiving more and more albums nowadays. Crown of Glory is one of those bands that brings out a release this year. “King For A Day” is the band’s second full length release since their formation in 1998.
With their Melodic/Heavy Metal the band does not really bring a remarkable new thing, but yet the guys have found a way to put their stamp on the sound in such a way that you can find some uniqueness in them. Strongstructures, the compositions and such, no perhaps it is not found in there but the voice of Hene Muther is just a little different than what we stereotypically would find and both guitarists manage to bring a modern approach of this sound, which gives them a refreshing sound. The album they present now, has plenty of variety in it also, some songs tend a bit more to an epic side while others are more bringing a feel-good atmosphere and that is also a great way to keep you listening.
“King For A Day” is an album that has something recognizable transformed into a modern sound, a sound that defines this band and sets them apart from many others. It is pleasant to listen to and would make me curious to a live show of these guys.
