Swedish Formation Avatar is back with a brand new album. With their theatric music as we saw earlier from acts like Bigelf for example the band has set themselves a name on a tour with Avenged Sevenfold. “Hail The Apocalypse” is out now.
The band has set themselves a live reputation but a recorded version of these guys is not unpleasant either. A whole dose of energy comes loose right from the start. And that is exactly what keeps coming and coming, hardly a moment to rest as they rage on and on. Strong riffs fly all around you but the catchiness comes with the refrains and after a few times listening you know those lyrics by heart. Though when leaving the whole act around it away, it is not drastically different as various other acts, it’s not like something new comes alive, but the guys compensate it with quality. Because the guys know what they are doing and that is why Avatar lift themselves up over the many others.
It is a pleasant album that does not break down to the live shows, both are having their separate selling points but while listening to “Hail The Apocalypse” you surely feel like seeing them live again.
