Harmonic Generator is a French band making rock and roll music. In 2013 the band released the album “When The Sun Goes Down” which got released a bit further into the world this year.
You can’t say the guys are not dedicated for their band. With the goal to improve both English and song writing the guys set sail to Australia for a year. It’s clear the guys have a straight image of what they want to sound like and have brought it come alive easily. A bit punk-ish influence may be in it here and there, the main focus remains with that Rock and Roll sound though. Vocalist Quentin Barthes-Villegas does not have a too stereotypical voice even though he obviously tries to do imitate the tricks and tips from others. Not turning out too bad, the band still remains with vocals that have just a bit of a turn and own identity, to keep the whole interesting.
On the song writing the band does an interesting job, they sometimes grab back to obvious clichés but you can see it is something they have worked on and put some attention too. It’s clear the band is working on themselves to grow and that is one aspect of why the album is fun to listen to. You can feel the ride along with them and makes you curious of their progress in future. A good album to start with and great expectations for the next!
