Punk Rock formation I Am The Avalanche is coming from New York. The band has released a debut album in 2005 and left a gap of 6 years before something of them could be found. This time they come back with a third full length called “Wolverines” which is out now.
The band has a typical American sound , is it the accent combined with the raspy vocals perhaps? Or is the smooth production that lays over it. It’s all very clean at least. Whatever factor it is, the band has created an album filled with charts material. It’s catchy and it speaks to you. You are addressed, you are only given a second before you are sucked in and the catchiness of the songs make you feel every word and have it come alive right away. What is a bit of a catch in this, is that the whole album rolls on and on with the same vibe. Not a single break, the songs seem to be built in the same template. Halfway the album you have definitely heard it all, and then it becomes a bit of a struggle to finish the album. Perhaps a point where the guys could improve on, but overall the album is not bad. Plenty of songs that catch you and will surely be great live.
