Lion Twin is a German Metal/Pop duo that got together in 2011. Together they have been working on the full length release which is out now: “Nashville”.
With the stereotypical and even cliché sound that these two produce you can’t really go wrong. Ok, you probably should not expect something really innovative, but no reason to not work with a sound that has a winning factor in it already. The catchiness from the tracks are strengthened by the voice of Li’s who makes the whole her own in a way that it never steps too far from the familiar but you can recognize an own identity in it. Then the duo found some great musicians to take part in their project which add to the whole feeling of the album. Though the album gives you diversity, sometimes you feel like they could have taken a bit more risks here and there. Some experimenting, taking things to the next level and simply leave the cliché behind completely. Ok, fair enough there is time for them to grow in that.
“Nashville” is an album that listens easily but will not bring many surprises. Good for on the go but hopefully they will bring a little extra next time to top themselves with it.
