Releasedate: 11-10-2013; Label: Fastball Music
By: Sabine van Gameren
Hellride is a formation that brings their Metal acoustic. Two guitars and vocals are all they need and they created a whole album called: “Acousticalized”.
Heavy metal in an acoustic form is not something you never hear, but remarkable it is to see a whole album made like that. Especially because these guys are not only bringing you a bunch of covers but also have their own material made. Which makes of course curious how these would sound without being acoustic, but perhaps that is something for a later release.
The key element that leads to the success of these guys are not necessarily the acoustic guitars, but rather the voice of singer Tommy Klossek. He has a hyperactive approach towards the song which makes the excitement of the metal stay alive. He can playfully add his stamp to a song while having the guitars back him up with that, letting the vocals be leading.
“Acousticalized” is an entertaining album that brings you an album that is perhaps a bit different from what is usually playing, but not too far from the Heavy Metal sound at all. Recommended to have something else in your collection and give you a good chance to listen to the music by (festival)campfire.
Line up:
Tommy Klossek – vocals

Stefan Gassner -acoustic guitars
