Netherbird is a Swedish formation making Melodic Black Metal. The band formed in 2004 and created quite a list of releases since. The last one is their new full length called: “The Ferocious Tides Of Fate”.

Netherbird is a band that knows a good balance between the Melodic and the Black Metal aspects of their sound. Never the Melodic hint towards any commercial edge and are there purely because the music asks for it. Guitars are raging around you, their sound is massive and embraces you, simply to get you into the music. A good drummer is found in Nils Fjellström, which we know from for example Dark Funeral. He gives the whole a steady back but makes his own presence remarkable upfront. It can’t fall away from your attention at any time.

On the vocal side it is Nephente who add his stamp to the sound. A good one, who does not demand to be upfront at all times but let the rest have an equal amount of it. Simply, a good balance is in this release. Some good songs are on the release and if you are looking for a reference you may think of the sound of bands like Before The Dawn with perhaps a bit more aggression into it.
