Minusheart is a band from Germany making Industrial music. The band has been founded in 2007 and came with their debut two years later. A remix album followed but after that it has been quiet around the band for almost two years. Now they come with a new album called “The Big Idea”.
The band have chosen an interesting title for this release, you may have big expectations from it and with three new band members they certainly changed quite a bit. The album has a depressive feeling all over it, simply found in every word spoken, the atmosphere in each songs and the calm instrumental backing. Often they sound minimalistic, leaving the sound cold and simple. Not much decoration is needed to make the point and this straightforward attitude strengthens the darkness. Some of the lyrics come with a passionate hate, listen to “Lost One Minute” and you can imagine the one directed must feel small, really small when hearing it.
A More general song may be found at the end: “I Don’t Think That The Sun Goes Down”, but with its repeating lyrics, it is stuck in your head for quite a while after listening it.
Minusheart is not a band that brings much joy, but with a lot of pureness in their songs you can feel the honest feelings of their makers come through, which makes it so beautiful.
