Mötley Crüe – Greatest Hits

Releasedate: 05-12-2011; Label: Eleven Seven Music
By: Nina Mende

Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee and Vince Neil , collectively Mötley Crüe, returned to the top of the charts with Saints of Los Angeles, their first studio album in a decade with the original line-up back in 2008. Based on the band’s New York Times bestseller “The Dirt”, the disc debuted at #1 on the Independent Album chart and was the top debut of the week on the Billboard Top 200 albums at #4. The band also started Crüe Fest in 2008, which was the most successful touring rock festival and the number ten tour overall (according to Rolling Stone), playing for nearly half a million rock fans throughout North America. Mötley Crüe has sold more than 80 million album copies worldwide, including 25 million in the U.S. And I guess this is all I need to say about Mötley Crüe.

After 30 years and nine studio albums, all the biographies and happenings this band does not need an introduction. But it is about time for a “Greatest Hits” album which they now released. Nineteen of the best songs out of their career. This album has some of the oldest songs on it as well as some of the newest, like “Saints Of Los Angeles”. This “Greatest Hits” album is a journey through Mötley Crüe’s rock history. Impressive and tough, if you think about the story behind, as you can read it in “The Dirt” for example. This is a brilliant album. A must have for all Mötley Crüe fans.
