The band was formed in 2001 by drummer John Alfredsson and guitarist Jonas Jarlsby, who at the time were in separate bands. Now these guys have a brand new album out. “Feathers & Flesh”. This is their very first concept album. The new release will be the band’s highly anticipated follow up to “Hail The Apocalypse” released in 2014, which cracked the Billboard Top 200 for the first time in the band’s career.

The album comes with sixteen songs and lasts for over one hour. Each song is carrying its own spirit, but all together they sum up to one big picture. The arrangements of the music is unique and wanders between metal, medieval and plain rock. The vocals are sometimes shouted, sometimes sung. The pace varies from fast to slow. Some songs fade right into each other, while other songs sound far apart from the surrounding ones.

All in all, the brand new Avatar album is absolutely impressive. The arrangements are well thought through. The sound is strong, so are the lyrics. This album will never tire, whether you are listening closely and grasp the whole picture or just let the music fade in with the background. So go ahead and get this brand new album now.
