Sanguine is a four piece female fronted alternative metal/rock band from Exeter, UK. First formed back in 2004 Sanguine started as a prog-rock band. A few years later Sanguine formed the sound it is today, hard hitting driving metal and rock riffs, mixtures of melodies, vocal ranges which include screams and singing both from front-woman Tarin Kerrey and guitarist Nick Magee. Sanguine have created a new unique sound, jumping between styles their eclectic song writing keep you guessing what the next track will sound like. This is their brand new album going by the name of “Black Sheep”.
The brand new Sanguine album comes with ten songs that last for almost forty minutes. The singer is keeping the balance between shouted and sung vocals. The shouted vocals remind of screaming as you know it from the most terrifying horror movies. The melodies are quite catchy. Distorted guitar riffs and a steady beat make it easy to go along to the music. Some parts are heavier with shredded guitar riffs, this adds the metal touch. Some songs include a male vocalist alongside the female vocalist. Strong arrangements are combined with interesting lyrics.
Sanguine created a loud and intense album with “Black Sheep”. The balance between shouted and sung vocals, as well as the addition of a male vocalist keep the album interesting. Even after the first time listening through, there is still some to discover. So go ahead and explore the brand new album “Black Sheep” by Sanguine now.
