Striker – Stand In The Fire

[schema type=”review” name=”Striker – Stand In The Fire” description=”Self release” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2016-02-05″ ]Striker is a formation from Canada formed in 2007. They combine Heavy Metal with Power Metal and released their fourth album “Stand In The Fire” this year.

Striker is responsible for delivering a fully catchy album. The 80’s reign through it, the clichés are in there all the time but with some good quality riffing the band has no problem with entertaining you at such a level you get over that sooner than later. What speaks a lot for the band is that they still manage to give their own face to this sound. This is a lot to credit on their vocalist who follows his own path rather than going into regions he does not come out best. A confident frontman that knows to find his strengths.
The band could have considered a different order in the track list though, the last song simply fades away and the first songs of the really catch you most.

Altogether these Canadians have given us an album that is a good extentions of any Heavy metal collection. The band plays exactly what you expect but with their own flair to it, where others are often sticking only with what they known. They do not step away from it too far, but with just a little Striker to it, it becomes a pleasant release!
