Dan Deagh Wealcan has a Russian/ Ukraine background. They made an album with the glorious title, “Two Straight Horizontal Lines And The Organized Chaos In Between” which we got to hear earlier this year. Now a brand new album is out and it carries a just as glorious title: “Who Cares What Music Is Playing In My Headphones”.
Well the statement is made, no more whining about references in their music. Clear, you’ll have to do without. We said before that the first album was blinking out for its ‘controlled chaos’ and although this description still carries the load, we are now seeing less chaos and even more control. The chaos to be found in each song giving you something different. Whatever it was they liked, they made something into that style. Randomness. But speaks for the guys is that this release is not just a collection of random songs, it has a certain touch to it that makes the album one. One album, one story with a sound that you can’t pin down to a few artists.
Being rebellious I could name a couple of bands but to make sure that it is not that much of search I could pick some more local names. Helsinki’s based For The Imperium for that tension building. The vocals and composing maybe to Kilt. and then we have a couple of names who also don’t pin themselves down to a label too much. More for the ‘if you like this, you may like that’ sake of it. The conclusion of this all? We love it!
