Staatspunkrott is a melodic punk band from Würzburg, Germany. Founded in 2003 the guys have released six CDs so far, “Nordost” being their latest. The album comes with ten tracks full of loud German punk music. Fast and thriving music is what you get on “Nordost”.

Lasting for a little over thirty minutes, Staatspunkrott is keeping up a fast beat and catchy melodies that will get you going along. The lyrics are sung quite fast and are all in German. Carrying deep messages Staatspunkrott is singing about life and today’s society. The music sounds very down to earth and honest. You can tell that the guys are extremely serious about the message they are trying to get across with their songs. The singer is backed up by his band for the backing vocals which adds some depth to the vocal line. Varying in speed a little the album is having slight ups and downs which is keeping you focused on the music instead of drifting off.

The album is very old school in the punk style Staatspunkrott chose. Very simple and pure. “Nordost” is a must have for punk fans. Especially those from Germany. So go ahead to get the latest release of Staatspunkrott. Also keep your eyes open for tour dates, I am sure these guys are delivering quite a show.
