Amandas Nadel is a German formation to be classified as Neue Deutsche Härte band. Amandas Nadel was known for work with acts like Roterfeld. Now he comes with the debut album “Sticht” on his own name.
He is a guitarist and this is something that comes forward quite well in this release. Some playful riffs a guitar that stands up front every once in a while, yes, there is no fear to bring it out. Then said this seems also his strongest point, the vocals are all in German, which does not really show an international ambition and that while his voice seems interesting enough to break out and play on a more international level.
Some of the songs seem quite mellow, but don’t be mistaken and take it as a love album all along, because the breakouts in songs like “Vampir” and “Von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit” are showing you a different side. Also the latter one has an interesting guitar solo that will please them guitarists listeners very well.
Altogether “Sticht” is a fine release with as a major minus that it does not hold its international potential to its fullest. But that’s a choice made by the artist, not everyone wants to tour the world.
