The Lachy Doley Group is bringing you some blues rock and they have been doing so since their formation in 2010. Album number three is releasing this year and it is called: “Conviction”.
What is special in this release is the use of the Hammond C3 Organ that is used in the music. It dates back to 1957 and only 20 of them are made. A unique touch to the band’s sound. Lachy seem to have built a reputation around the use of this instrument, mainly in his own country Australia.
What it brings into the sound of this blues group is a warm and homey touch. It’s comfort makes it easy to get an attachment with these songs while you have heard them only once before, an element that any musician likes his music to have, to capture people and carry them along. When some vocals come into the music you may be surprise of the lightness it comes with, maybe you would have expected a more smokey voice but it certainly suits with what we got instrumentally.
“Conviction” is a pleasant album to listen to. I has all you want and expands on that. Later this year you will have the opportunity to witness it live.
