Indie Rock with a Caribbean touch is not something you come across every day. Yet it is Boxerin Club from Italy found themselves comfortable in that style and since their foundation in 2010 the band released one EP until 2015. This year may be their year armed with their brand new album “Aloha Krakatoa” they are heading towards the Netherlands where they will play at the Eurosonic Festival.
A little bit of Caribbean in the house certainly warms us up as with a January release you can be certain you won’t be spending much time in the sun unless you booked a trip to an holiday resort. The music of these guys brings you into the party mood but you must be aware that it does not really have any raw edge attached. So if you looking for a little spice in your sounds then maybe this ain’t the release for you.
The band has created a collection of songs to enlighten you, take “Clown” for example, or perhaps the songs “Northern Flow” to have instant feel good feeling.
“Aloha Krakatoa” sounds like an album that you need to experience live. For those at Eurosonic festival there is the opportunity right there, others may have to wait until the Italians come a little closer.
