Autere – Amal’l

Releasedate: 05-12-2014; Label: Inverse Records
By: Sabine van Gameren

The heavy metal formation Autere started back in 2002 in the Finnish city Turku. In 2009 the band released “Being Dead Is A Place”, their third EP, and at the end op 2014 the band released their debut full length album called: “Amal’l”.

It has been quiet around the band for a while but after some line up chances has been done, the band seem to be a bit more active. With a new vocalist and a new guitarist the band will show themselves from a new side.
The band has a stronger base as they are now. The groove is there, the strength as well. You could argue a bit about the more cleaner vocal parts for being not so stable as they could be. There is obviously a bit more balance in the band’s sound.
Although the guys have quite some stereotypical compositions in here and are the riffs recognizable they often surprise with their changeovers . Going through the track list a bit further, you start to notice the overall stability in the songs becomes a bit stronger. The songs flowing easier and show a more unique, passionate face. Songs as “Redeemers”, “Carbon” or “Veils of Faith” show the most energetic and powerful side of the band.

Altogether the band has brought an interesting release. It starts a bit questionable, but the further you get into it the more it grows. If Autere highlights their own unique factors a bit more, bringing them even more upfront, the band will bring us an album that sticks long time!
