Skeptical Minds is a Belgian Electro/Industrial formation which formed in 2002. The band released several cd’s and a live DVD and anno 2014 they are releasing a live album, which have been recorded at the Metal Female Voices Fest.
The recording dates back to 2012 but this year the band was also added to the list of performing bands at the Metal Female Voices Fest which indicates their performance back then left a great impression.
The album starts quite strong and powerful but the band likes to vary a little. While a lot of their songs sound strong and energetic they bring in a little softer touch with the use of a cello. What comes to notice is the band puts a high importance in their words, they really want to say something and it comes across quite well.
A brand new studio album is planned and to be honest, it would interest us much more to hear what they can do for a live recording does not always bring you into the music as much when being a first time listener as you don’t have the visuals to go with it. But for that visual side the band comes with another solution. Their new album will be accompanied with a comic book, which seems a nice little extra. We are looking forward in seeing that.
