Knifeworld is a UK band that mixes different styles and instruments. Their sophomore album “The Unravelling” is the first recording of the full eight-piece line up.Traditional rock instruments are augmented with male/ female vocal harmonies, bassoon, saxophones, keys and strings.
The founder of Knifeworld,Torabi, typically employs psychedelic, polyrhythmic arrangements married to insistent pop-hooks that are both ambitious and unpredictable. And all that is what they put into only eight tracks for you. Psychedelic music with female and male vocals taking turns and telling stories. The songs on “The Unravelling” are creating an atmosphere infected with chaos, fast pace and fantasy. The album reminds more of a musical theme. Ending abruptly and continuing in a new scene on the next song. An interesting concept for a music album. And rare. A theatrical collection of styles and sounds that keeps your mind busy for about forty-five minutes with an average song duration of five minutes. Eight interesting tracks unlike anything you have ever heard before. “The Unravelling” is a unique album that is waiting for your ears to be heard. So go check it out if you are into theatrical music themes or have an inner urge to explore unknown arts. The second full length studio album of the UK band Knifeworld is out now.
