Shezoo is a Heavy Metal formation currently based in Switzerland. The band embraces the fact they have some female bandmembers in the band and comes this year with a new album called: “Change”.
In what way the ladies have meant that ‘change’ to be is not to be judged by us as we haven’t heard them before. However themselves they explain it in the way that it is a more grown up album. You certainly can hear a band that knows what they want, they seem to have exactly in mind where they want to go to with this release. They are showing us some strong structures in these tracks and basically the band has created a nice balance between that classic sound versus something anno 2014, which gives them their own identity. For some needed variation in their sound the band also included some ballads in the album in which you get a moment to enjoy it all calmly.
Overall the album came out quite well. If the band says this release is ‘more grown up’ I tend to believe them. There is some space for more growth, some refining here and there but “Change” is an album that listens pleasantly.
