Kaunis Kuolematon is a Finnish Doom/Melodic Death formation that formed in 2012. With bandmembers out of bands like Sinamore and End of Aeon people may an idea of what to expect. So far only an EP and a single have come out, but this year it is time for a debut full length release called “Kylmä Kaunis Maailma”.
If you don’t appreciate music to be in a different language which you may not speak, than this band will be not for you as they have their lyrics all in Finnish. But for those who can seek beyond there is plenty to discover and they will probably find out fast enough that it is not always needed to know an exact translation of all these words to get the feeling as these Finns have no problems with putting an atmospherical layer over each song that covers the load directly. Close your eyes and listen carefully, allow yourself to get sucked into their sound and you will feel that doomy atmosphere, the darkness coming over you. Melancholy, combined with a great set of guitars giving the whole a very dynamic feel. A sound that’s full off different elements, giving you the task to listen very carefully and perhaps have it on the play quite some times while still discovering something new each time.
Get over the fact that you may not understand each word, “Kylmä Kaunis Maailma” is an album with international allure and you would not forgive yourself if you find out a couple of years later that this band is actually one for your favourites-list but you missed out of that over a linguistic insecurity. Listen now and get involved right away with adding it to your collection, an opportunity you don’t want to miss out of!
