Seven Thorns is a Power Metal formation from Denmark. The band has been on and off since 1998 with their debut album to appear in 2007. This year the band comes with album number three which is called “II”.
Here and there you may have found references to the larger names in the scene, but let’s not be any clearer than this, the band comes with some diversity. The songs on this release all have something of their own to add. Where “Eye of The Storm” has the catchiness right from the start, you may find yourself putting more effort in a track like “Justice” which has a different vibe over it. More intimate perhaps. “Night of Temptation” starts with some hypnotic guitars, showing of the skills quite well. That is just one of those tracks that tells you the band is up to quite something and has all the potential of being a great live sensation.
“The Joker’s Game” is a song that shows some vehemence side of the band. It has a vicious edge and has a lot of power. The album also comers with an Abba cover. “Mama Mia” is brought in a more metal version. Probably not the most remarkable song, but fun for the fans. It is not too close to the original which makes it worth to listen to at least.
