Embercrow is a German formation making Gothic/Dark Rock music. The band is formed in 2004 and in 2013 the band released a debut full length album called: “Blacklight Wanderers”.
The album has a bit of clichés here and there, straight in the first track you get introduced to a song you may have heard from various other acts as well, yet what is the difference is that the vocals here are not coming out as strong as they could have been. It seems like vocalist Simon is still searching on how to bring a bit more contrast into it and where to put a bit more depth into them.
As a more positive point to mention you could say the songs self are having variation, it is not like they are too much alike which makes it more likely you will step over the vocal issues. The guitars are showing that there are some good ideas onboard, but the guys should expand a bit more on what they have to make it more successful. Ah well, “Blacklight Wanderers” is only their first full length, seems like they have plenty of time to develop and grow before a new album gets introduced.
