Lowfield – Start The Machine

Releasedate: 2013; Label: Echozone
By: Sabine van Gameren

Lowfield is a German trio making Indie Rock music. The band has released 2 full length albums so far and now comes with the EP called “Start The Machine”.

The band has released their previous albums with a different line-up as what the guys are working with nowadays. They have taken their time to present this release and that seem to work in their advance. The Indie Rock songs they bring are catchy and well thought. It easy to get yourself dragged in and you may imagine this in a small hip club, making the evening a lot more lively. You can find that here and there the band could expand on what they are doing to make it sound more massive, perhaps a bit Lapko style which would add more drama, but not bring it too far.

“Start The Machine” is made to stir up some people for their actual full length release which is expected in spring of 2014 and with this little teaser they probably succeeded with that. It is a perfectly fine release to bring the attention to them. “Vertigo”, “Someday” and title track “Start The Machine” are all songs that could do perfectly well on a full length as well, though we hope that the full length has a lot more of new material as well.
