I.M.nail – Hyena Sunrise

I.M.nail is a German formation making Alternative Metal. The band just released their first release via Bladebeat records named: “Hyena Sunrise”.

Perhaps Alternative Metal is not a description that covers the whole completely. Think a bit more into an Industrial Metal corner, heavy guitars combined with some synths . Nine Inch Nails with some extra raw violence. That rawness gives the band character. It leads through their whole product. The production is never smoothly clean, but leaves a smudge on it. Vocals are having that same element, keeping it a bit powerful.
Leading are the guitars though. They define the band’s sound. Though here and there some elaboration could be found, but perhaps that falls into place in a future release. The six tracks on this release give a varied view on what the band wants to bring. The songs are good in line with each other but have enough diversity. In some of the tracks the band makes use of female vocals. Creates a bit of a balance, but it does not necessarily bring something extra to the songs.
Overall these Germans have created a release with some good tracks, that show that with some refinement here and there the band might surprise many with a next release.
