Gemma Ray is a British singer and songwriter, living in Berlin these days. Now she has released her new and third album “Island Fire”.

Coming with twelve songs, this album is beautiful to relax to and to start a mellow weekend. The voice reminds a little bit of Amy Macdonald. The cover reminds of holidays being spent at the beach enjoying the wonderful weather. But Gemma Ray’s songs are telling stories, sad ones. One of the catchiest songs on this album is “Fire House”. Gemma Ray has an absolutely beautiful voice. Listening to “Island Fire” lets you forget everything around you, especially the time. When listening closely to the lyrics, you begin thinking about life and death as some songs are quite tragical. Beautiful music combined with sad songs. Gemma Ray is proving that life can be hard at times, but also that you have to hang in there as life goes on and good times will follow.
