Paranoid Android is a German duo that makes Electro Pop/wave. It is still a young band, their debut saw light in 2010 and this year they come with a follow up album “No Way Out”.
The band combines guitar with more electronic elements, quite calm and minimalistic performed. It becomes easy accessible due to these electronic parts, it does not appear to be the most comprehensive and parts often return. What falls a bit into the darkness compared to rest are the vocals. They are quite light, as if they are on top of the music instead of being integrated with it. It misses some sharp edges and articulation which would give the words more spice at some points. That would surely help for the lyrics to make an impact. The vocals as they are now appear a bit too flat and after a few songs it gets boring, while it has the potential to be music that leaves an impression. A bit of a pity, but the guys could work on that. On the other hand, when the guitars are coming forward you hear some interesting riffs, which is a nice addition to their sound.
“No Way Out” has its moments but shows mainly a band that needs to grow a bit more, it could have been bigger than it is right now.
