Bionic is a formation that makes Electro/EBM/Industrial. A seventeen years career (including a break) brought forth two albums and now the third one sees light. “Meadowland” is out now.
Bionic created a quite melodic album with “Meadowland”. Not that much EBM in its hardest form, rather focussed on electronics and melody. Themselves they mention Prodigy as influence and this is something you may find back, but not that obvious. The band brings aggression when needed but remains with most danceable parts on the majority of the tracks. Title track “Meadowland” is the most hypnotic song on the album, it sticks in mind and before you are halfway listening it, you already hum it along. Surely not that hard, the lyrics are not that hard, but it has a captivating sound that drags you into it as well. The synths are making it dreamy also and makes this album a good one to listen to at home as well as you can dance to it on a dark summer night beach party. Pleasant to listen to, just forget to look at its original description and let yourself enjoy it. “Meadowland” is a gorgeous release that shows a good atmosphere and has plenty of dance ability.
