Reverence is a French formation making Black Metal formation that founded in 1998. In 2005 their debut full length came out and anno 2012 they are up for their fourth longplayer “The Asthenic Ascension”.
Reverence brings atmospheric, avant-garde Black Metal, dark and cold. Sophisticated compositions that are well thought showing of there is spend quite some time into details. Listen to the riffs, they are not holding back on it and while the tension are going on an and on throughout the album the tempo changes are more surprising. Good to get surprised in this way, another plus for this release. These French guys created an album that comes with intensity, you need to pay attention while listening to it so you make sure you get the full experience. Headphones on and enjoying it, get into it and then you may end up being terrified by the great atmospheres to be found in “The Asthenic Ascension”. A crying woman that keeps going on in “Psalm IV” until the shots release you from it, the deep vocals in “Cold Room”, plenty of elements to love. All in all this release is one that clearly makes an impression. Worth to get!
