Cryoshell is a Danish Rock music group employed by the LEGO Group to release music for the toy company’s BIONICLE toyline. The band released songs for the spring 2007 and fall 2008-2009 BIONICLE toylines. Following the end of the BIONICLE toyline, the band decided to go independent and has released its first album in Denmark, and is now pending world-wide release.
Their self titled debut album “Cryoshell” comes with ten tracks. The female vocalist has a strong voice and knows to use her voice very well. Additionally to her vocals there is also a guy supporting her with spoken vocals. The style of music and idea of some arrangements remind of Evanescence, Leaves Eye or Lacuna Coil. Most of the album is quite rocking, the last song “No More Words” is outstanding though: It is a slow song, very melodic and melancholic “No More Words” makes you think. The cover carries some sadness as well. A girl sitting on a table with her head on a plate, staring right at you, unsure whether she is dead or alive. Cryoshell sound like they have been in the business for long and also sound like they will stay for a while, so lets see what Cryoshell come up with next. Until then enjoy their self titled debut album “Cryoshell”.
