[schema type=”review” name=”Schmieds Puls – Manic Acid Love” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2018-09-07″ ]Austrian Pop/Indie formation Schmieds Puls is now taking on their new name to release a brand new album. “Manic Acid Love”, which the third release of this band, is available now.
The release we received is somewhat typical. The songs on the album are catchy in one way, but carry a sharp edge more often than one would guess on forehand. It is all about listening to it with care, while it is tempting to just let this be your background music all the same. Playing partly on your emotional side they are manipulating you into going along with it, but then the words may not be all what one is up for and challenge you to form an opinion.
Do you dare to give out the control and go with their flow, or do feel strongly to go against it, the album does make you wonder about it. So the result is in either way: one must give it some stronger attention, almost the smartest marketing move thought off, but not everyone can execute this way. Them Austrians have made it their own as it seems.
But not all is retrackting your brain from the simple parts of live, they also allow you to come closer to more intimate self of them. Also, a precious part that comes in decent balance with the rest.
Sassy, spicy and also a lot of love, that is what we could describe it with. Dare to accept the challenge?
