Forte Ruin – Rebuilding The Machinery

[schema type=”review” name=”Forte Ruin – Rebuilding The Machinery” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2018-03-09″ ]Forte Ruin is a Melodic Death Metal formation from Finland. They founded in 2011 and took their time to find their way. In 2015 the band came with a first EP called “Forte Ruin”. This year we received another EP. It is called “Rebuilding The Machinery” and it is out now.

The previous one pleased us well and now we have some new material to take a look at. The band has kept their vehemence, not leaning into going overly on the melodic, but embedded that melodic part in a more vivid way. It simply is enriched and with some interesting riffs it gives you plenty to listen too. At the first song on the album you may need to get used to the vocals a bit, mainly the clean parts are rather different, but after that you get the feel.
Atmospherically, the guys know how they want to set their release. Stong and vehement. Not tuning it down too much they give five tracks that are each standing on their own but fall well into line with the others.

As a band the guys grown also. You feel the whole comes together more, a confident sound that has a face of it’s own and not leaning onto the sound of influences even though you can have a guess of what is on their playlists. “Rebuilding The Machinery” makes us curious for a live experience, the album gives you the impression that this band lives for live. Let’s hope they cross our path.
