This time I would like to start with a confession! Writing a review for a band like Ensiferum is really hard for me because whatever they do is such a masterpiece that it is hard to make an evaluation for each song. However, it seems like this time Ensiferum makes my job easier because they released an album which contains almost all my favourite songs!
With Spinefarm Records, band’s album will be released on April 1st. It is for sure that it will be a nice start to the spring days by going on an adventure with Ensiferum’s both old and new great albums and songs! The album has such a variety on songs that it must have been a really hard but very successful choice for Ensiferum! It is possible to see songs from “One Man Army” album to “Dragonheads” EP. Talking of variety, I have to mention the song “Two of Spades” which is such a unique and different Ensiferum song. While the band most of the time make their listeners grab swords and shields, with “Two of Spades“, band puts the listeners in a more joyful and kind of a dancing mood. However, of course the song does not end without mentioning the Gods and Valhalla.
Album contains 14 songs in total and I think it might be good a start for a person who is not able to listen to the whole discography yet.
Album of the Pagan warriors ends with “Victory Song” , as if they have proved that Ensiferum has the victory by composing the greatest songs of two decades already! It has been a long journey with them and it seems there will be more victories with such masterpieces!
