Formed in 2017 French formation Second Day dropped their LP Flamboyance in the very start of 2025 year.

This time we unpacked melodic metal / post prog piece and guessed what it all behind. So, this 45-minutes record includes 11 pretty different tracks. The first track you can access is “You Are the Architect”. Started with piano, volumizing with guitars and growling. Main theme of “Adults Control Nothing” sounds pretty familiar and experimental at the same time. Mix of melodic rock, psychedelic notes and whirring guitars in general seems as several layers put on each other with no stiches. The same feelings about “Inside” track. The intriguing and impressive guitar crying placed for “Blocs de brouillard”, lyrics in French also included. The most solid track with drum-machine and beat vibe is “Pray for the Living”. Something theatrical in each passages of this song, several stories behind the curtains. And the last mentioned track is “Hidden Jewel” with more specific metal sound. Over 5 minutes long, you can hear powerful and kind of progressive metal (or whatever it is) song.

In metaphorical way, it’s something like sunrise gazing. As for me, the vocal parts are less interesting, but the instrumental – thoughtful and deep for any occasions.
