Australian band Darker Half makes Power Metal. The band formed in2003 and has released three albums so far. The last one was originally released in 2014 and gets re-released anno 2016.
Darker Half is a band that presents this album now on wider territory and it is clear to see why they have this ambition to reach further. The band has a clear idea of what to present, toured with the known names in the Heavy metal and seems ready for it. The album they are giving us now has a certain dose of catchiness and with the refrains easily stuck in mind these songs are a quite easy listening. Here and there they could probably break out a bit further, add some elaboration to it. Just to put a bit more of their own into it. As after listening the album it is a bit hard to pit an identity to it, They could bring the attention towards a certain riff, now they often stick with the song and fans would be awaiting more from them.
That being said, the album is two years old. We are curious how the experiences from touring with bands like Accept, Helloween and Edguy will translate into their sound further. Would they make steps forward perhaps? We’ll await.
