Charing Cross is formation from Switzerland which makes Heavy Metal. The band released their second full length album called “Sinspiration” in 2013 and now returns with a brand new album. It’s called: “Pain and Gain” and is out now.
The previous album we found too plain as they focused too much on small individual moments instead of aiming for one highlight altogether. I was curious to hear if the band worked on it and I am glad to say that the album is surely giving a bit more of a team effort. There is still place for solo’s and such, and there really should be, but the guys have managed to become a bit more of a unity. The catchiness is the key factor in their sound. A recognizable sound, helps with that and after listening a few times you have the songs stuck in mind. If you compare it to how other bands in the genre do it, you could say they could take this even further. I bit more spice would suit the guys as well.
With the release of “Pain and Gain” the band shows a good path of progress. A pleasant album to listen and if they continue that learning curve within their band they can probably do great things after this as well.
