The Maension is a future rock band – as they call it themselves – that combines quite some genres. Especially on their brand new album “Aevolution” you can hear their style. “We’re a hybrid of Art Rock, Alt Metal and Prog Rock with some electronic elements,” is how The Maension explains their sound. Promising and interesting for sure. “Aevolution” comes with nine songs to convince you that this is more than just talk.

The music on “Aevolution” sure is different from what you usually hear when listening to rock music, but the guys wander around quite some other genres as well on this album. Somewhere between psychedelic and progressive rock you can find The Maension. The album sure is interesting with its unique sound. For the song “Chrysalis” The Maension got Fred Durst, the singer of Limp Bizkit, as support. Some songs on “Aevolution” remind of System Of A Down with the arrangements and the vocal style.

The new The Maension album “Aevolution” sure differs from all the other albums that are out there right now. Wandering between styles and genres leaves this album out of categories. Left all by itself. If you are into experimental music that wanders somewhere between progressive and psychedelic and is considered future rock, “Aevolution” is the right album for you.
