Inkvisitor is a Thrash Metal formation from Finland. The band formed in 2012 and now comes with a debut full length album called: “Doctrine of Damnation”.
The Finns start it of rather calm, after the intro ready to bring some tempo into it. You must admit, it does not really breeze of originality, the Bay Thrash inspiration is obvious enough, but what we are looking for in this kind of music is the quality and the entertainment. They play around with clearly having sections in their music, sometime with quite harsh transitions from one part to another. Sometimes it is more flowing into it though. What stands out though are the diverse riffs that’s just flying around. Guitarists in this band clearly given themselves a lot of space to shine in the release. Yet, when vocals are in it, you will be happy with these to. Quite stable and bringing lyrics that are easy to pick up, a certain catchiness could be found in there. So simply a few listens and you are singing along when you see them live first.
“Doctrine of Damnation” is an album that maybe doesn’t invent anything but brings you quality and joy while listening it. A good Thrash release that sticks over the many we received.
