Guitarist Marcel Singor got himself into the picture at young age. 13 years old and he won the Dutch Guitar Awards and has been part of many musical projects since with just as many releases on his name. Latest he is armed with the new album “Futureproof” which is actually his very first solorelease.
“Futureproof”, a statement name for a first solo release, is one that comes with diversity. Leading are these guitar skills that have proven themselves already through the time and no one really need to question anyway. The sound that is chosen for this album is a rather playful one. Melodic, yes, and yet with some vehemence in it, not making it all too melancholic in the process. Fair to say it does have a familiar flavour onto it, them 80’s are over it, but there is enough of Marcel himself to be found in there to keep one interested at it. Keep an eye at the modern sounds and perhaps that is truly what is the essence of it all. Taking from what has been there and make it ready for a new generation, to have that it futureproof.
All together, Marcel is giving you enough for your money. Eleven songs of substantial length, a sound that he updates to keep it timeless.
