British rockers Lucifer’s Friend are maybe familiar to some as they were playing a lot in the 70’s. Eventually they broke up and it took over twenty years for them to come back together. Requested by fans, so to say. This year they release a compilation album called “Awakening”
It’s a double disc, this release. Some of the fans favorites are re-mastered and brought out, but on the second disc we are getting some bonus material, which are fresh songs that aren’t yet known to their fanbase. It is good they have bothered to bring something new as well as they are not to be cashing in on ages old material relying on fans to pay for it anyway, but actually bringing them something new. From these new tracks you can clearly hear that they are in line with what they have released before but it seems there is a bit more spark to it. Still a confidential sound for these guys regardless the fact that they are unable to go back to its original line up.
Whether this band will remain active and return with new material is unknown, but for now there is something to enjoy with “Awakening”.
