Watertank is a formation from France having the focus on the melodic side of music. Don’t drift away too much, there is that post rock way of thinking involved with just as well. Two years ago they came with a debut, now it is time for them to release a new album called: “Destination Unknown”.

The title suspects that the band went into this release with an open mind, let the music flow as it comes and no path paved before they even started. A welcome approach as the album resulted in a freely flowing piece of music that has a quite open character. Catchiness is to be found throughout, leaving you with these little hooks that stick in mind as well as a refrain could do that for you. What you are hoping for though, is that moment that the energy burst out completely, going far out of their comfort zone, being that track that can make the difference in a set. That kind of song is not really to be found in this album, the songs are all having a similar energy level and maybe that would be one of the points that could be improved.

Furthermore “Destination Unknown is a release that listens pleasantly. Melancholic and passionate, an album that puts Watertank on the watchlist.
