The Swedish band Dark is one with familiar faces. We recently spoke with the band already, now the album is about to be available we investigate further.
The Gothic Rock formation is releasing their debut album called “Dark” which starts off with an The Mission/Sister of Mercy- ish track. Sets the mood: dark, but what’s in the name. Atmospheres that tend to be calm with an obscure edge can turn out to be quite creepy when listening with fullest attention. Songs like “Dark World”, “Kvall and “Distance” are drawing ones attention easily. Some others are more to be listened with care and attention.
Then in different feeling you might want to dance to a song like “Incomplete and Medicated” for its melodic parts. On the emotional level there is plenty to hear, the lyrics tell you a story and the listener may sit down and explore these calmly. It’s an album that’s created with care and that’s what the listener benefits from.
This selftitled debut album from the Swedes offers a lot diversity for the Goth listener. Or for any listener in that matter. It is an album that grows on you when listening more and one thing is sure, it’s dark and it’s Dark. A recommended piece for the Gothrocker.
