The band Waiting For is coming from Belgian and we are told to expect Neo Metal Fusion. Alright, their first album “The Hexen” is out now.
The guys have an aggressive approach to their sound, but regardless their effort it does not really worked out to get us much impressed. Where is the pain coming from, well straight out: the vocals. No, we are not too impressed with them. Perhaps the guys have been looking to bring their own unique element in it, but it comes across as uncontrolled and unbalanced. Obviously throwing in the Nu Metal elements there is still a thing of keeping hold onto your capabilities and maybe they have been going too far away from that. Besides the vocals we are getting an instrumental backing that seems a bit more balanced. Nothing breaks out and that creates that little stability that’s in this the release. However, the whole is maybe not that much of a surprise in originality.
“The Hexen” is not the greatest release we heard this year, the band would wisely sit down and think of a way to make their sound come across as more solid, more stable and let the vocals be as crazy as they want to, but keep it on a leash to be in control.
