Soledown is a German formation making Rock music. The band released an album called “MMX” in 2010 and four years later return with a brand new album called: “Mudbox”
The band has a sound with a bit grunge edge. Think Seether, but perhaps a bit more raw here and there. Don’t take that raw too serious though, their sound is still very approachable and commercial. The catchy songs that the band make are built well-thought and are strong enough to be chart material. Yet, you can hear the band has their heroes. May you recognize a little Metallica wink in there for example?! Yes you can! But then the band can easily switch it off with something different. It is the variation that scores for the band as their diversity shows the quality. When they bring a ballad like “One Way” they come out just as strong as they do with their more up-tempo songs.
“Mudbox is an album that shows a lot of different sides of these guys. What speaks for them is that they know how to perfectly blend it all together in one album and make it sound as an unity and not just a collection of different songs. Soledown sets themselves down!
